[comp.sys.amiga] Math routine and TeX questions

oliver@tlab1.cs.unc.edu (Bill Oliver) (03/06/90)

I am a new-to-be (the check is in the mail) Amiga owner, and am now
interested in applying my new machine. I have some specific questions
about some tools:

1) Has anyone had experience with the Lattice C++ compiler? Howd'ya like it?

2) I have seen ads for some math packages from a company called Lionheart.
Has anyone used any of these, and how'd they do? Can one incorporate
any of the routines into home-made applications code, a la Numerical
   Recipies?

3) Any nice FFT/spectral analysis/convolution packages out there?
Again, I would prefer either code I could modify or at least
libraries I can link, as opposed to having to use the routine
   as a separate application.

4) Question 3, but for matrix manipulation and basic numerical analysis.

4) I have seen one add for an FFT package, and the Lionheart ads, but
I have never seen these advertised in the mail-order ads. Is there
a mail-order place that has this kind of stuff cheap? I am lazy, and
would like not to have to re-code the wheel, but I am also poor.

5) Most of the papers I write at work are done in TeX or LaTeX. I have heard
good things about a product called AmigaTeX, but again, I have never
seen it advertised in a mail-order place. Is it available cut-rate?

Thanks!
