I found a really thorough book, called (I think) "The Solar Design
Handbook", and I don't recall who wrote it. For your area, there are a
lot of different schemes that could work very well. By very well, I mean
that a house in the Lake Tahoe area got through winter by burning
just one or two cords of wood. The house I have in mind is an envelope
type house. It was in Popular Science sometime about 3 years or more
back. The handbook may have a reference about it, but otherwise,
i really don't know who has plans for those. There are lots
more passive solar designs that would work, though. Good luck.
