[comp.sys.amiga] Lattice C Patches

bill@wfhami.UUCP (Bill Hogsett) (03/04/90)

I am having problems with the 5.05 Lattice patch. lpatch fails with
some of the executables and works with others. I started out with 5.04 versions
of everything and would have thought the patch should have gone smoothly.
Instead, go, cpr and diff were patched while lc1, lc1b and lc2 were not.
I got messages saying the original file was the wrong version so it
couldn't be patched. All three of the lc files indicate they are version
5.04 (I even went back and brought lc1 up to 5.04 from 5.00). The file
sizes are:

-----rwed 90-03-03 09:28:02 207 104512 lc1
---parwed 89-11-01 20:08:28 239 120488 lc1b
---parwed 89-11-01 20:09:28 204 103256 lc2

I assume that there is something "unique" about my system, but I don't
know what (It wouldn't be my 68010 would it?). I normally use ARP, but for
this patch am not using it at all(I think). I have an A1000 with 1.5 meg
and a Tecmar hard disk. I run Wshell, Qmouse, conman and probably a couple
of others.

If it didn't work at all I might understand, but it patched some
of the execuatbles.

        Any suggestions, would be appreciated.

There was a note (in c.s.a.tech I believe) recently (yesterday or today)
that indicates that this is a problem caused by 2 versions of 5.4 that
were released. It seems that you have the misfortune to have the wrong version.

The fix was to call Lattice and explain your problem and ask them for a new set
of disks (with 5.5 of course).
