[comp.sys.amiga] Fish Disk database

jac423@leah.Albany.Edu (Jules Cisek) (03/04/90)

Was I dreaming, or wasn't there a program in one of the more recent Fred
Fish Library distribution that was a database to all of Mr.Fish's
collection? I could have sworn there was such a thing. Am I going
crazy?

No, you are not mistaken. It is called Aquarium and has a nice intuition
interface. I believe it is on Fish disk 301 and contains entries for the disks
1-300.

this is a VERY nice program but it doesnt seem to
work well when you want to search for text, which is what i REALLY
need it to do.
i say that the text string is "egad"
it it seem to randomly pick entries that do not have the string
egad at all.

this would be really usefull if it would work. Let me
know if anyone finds a fix for it

If you've got a copy of mff+, I can let you have a copy of my complete
fish disk database (all fish disks released to date) for it, as well
as the Rexx script used to add the contents files for new disks. If
you have it, then I assume you know how it works and can decide if
such a database would be usefull to you.

Wishfull thinking note: the mff+ database won't work with the demo
version of mff that was on an early fish disk. If it would, I'd have
released the database & scripts to Fred much earlier. If anyone has
has suggestions for making it work, try sending them to me.
