[comp.sys.amiga] RAD: with 1Meg Agnus

871579l@aucs.uucp (Todd Lowe) (03/04/90)

I know this has been on here before, but can't quite remember how.

How do I get RAD: to work with more than 512K chip ram??

When I look exec-disassembly (for 1.2) there was tiny bug,
which cause system to recognize 1Meg chip-ram, but never
	warmboot with it.

I think this may cause some problems when using recoverable
	ramdisks.

This is presumably what "setpatch r" fixes. It installs a patch which
hangs around after a reboot (in fact, VirusX 3.2 flags it as a suspicious
value for one of the reboot vectors).

Adam Levin (CATS SUPPORT) once said,

"Use a lower case 'R' as in

   SetPatch >NIL: r

    and your RAD: will reboot..."

Upon discovering this, I said, "OH S*&%%$!!!!! That's Why!",
and proceeded to change my startup-sequence. Note that the
documentation for SETPATCH only mentions "R", as in upper case.
