I would like to make some comments on the A2630 accelerator card from Commodore. I read a review of it in AmigaWorld, and I am surprised that Commodore would take such a fine product and cripple it severely with slow memory. The point is that the A2630 is not a mere peripheral product for the Amiga 2000, but forms the core of several new Amiga systems. To cripple the A2630 card with slow RAM is to cripple all of these systems. It is my sincere hope that the people at Commodore who have any say about this will be wise enough to do a minor revision to the board by simply using faster RAM. The increase in performance of all systems using this board would be almost dramatic. To me, the idea of equipping this card with slow memory is not just a mistake but, frankly, just plain stupid. Using faster RAM will increase the price a bit, but the overall dramatic increase in performance would more than offset this slightly higher price. If Commodore does not wish to do this, could you at least make the A2630 available with no memory? I know more than a few people who would like to just rip out the slow RAM chips and replace them with faster ones. Having the A2630 available with no RAM would at least save them a step. Marc Barrett
