Yeah, Quarterback, I love it. I used Mrbackup for a short while and
found that a 26 Meg backup took me all evening (4-5 hours) and that
the compression on switch made files larger than the originals instead
of smaller. I purchased Quarterback and it's fantastic, feature packed
and uses less diskettes to back up then standard Amigados format. It
takes me about an hour to back up 26 Megs now. It's well worth the $40 - $50
dollar price (through discount houses). Don't mean to sound like I'm
knocking Mrbackup, afterall you get what you pay for, and for Shareware,
I wouldn't expect these types of features.

(I'm in no way affiliated with the makers of Quarterback -
 Central Coast Software)

I use Quarterback for my HD backups and I really do love it. I much prefer
it to every Messydos backup program, including PCBackup 5.5. However,
there's just one thing I dislike: It doesn't do any compressing.
That's why I've been looking for another backup program, without success.
The only one I know that does compression, MRBackup, uses the standard
Amigados file format, so it's incredibly slow.
Is there a backup software that is as fast as Quarterback and does compressing?

I use Saf-T-Net. It does compression (1250K compresses down to 925K and
goes on 1 disk). IMHO it's still the best backup software for Ami.
