Does anyone know if gnu-emacs is available for AmigaDos? Please note,
that is *gnu-emacs*. I have 42 bazillion micro-wimpy-emacses, but I'd
like the real thing, complete with lisp libraries. I think an Amiga
with a few meg could handle it. The executable stripped of all the X11
garbage should be but a few hundred K, and the port itself shouldn't
be too bad one you take care of the screen handling functions.
Please respond via email; I will summarize if the answer is "yes".

Just like to add my voice to the hordes crying out for someone to
port real gnu-emacs to the Amiga. I've heard it's been done on the ST,
and there must be plenty of 5-meg+ Amigas our there these days which
would be up to the task of building it.
I'd also like to see gcc and especially g++, since there may be
some wait before Lattice gets a C++ 2.0 compiler on the market.
And how about gawk?
Jim (who will tackle these things himself if God signs of on his
request to extend the day to 36 hours).
