VLT is looking for an AREXX beep routine. Get yourself in PROGRAM MODE
by selecting MACROS-PROGRAM_MODE-ON with your mouse (or press
right-amiga left-parenthesis). After that, select the OPERATION-BEEP_
VOLUME function with the mouse and a requestor will come up with the
AREXX beep function in it. Delete this text and hit RETURN. Go back to
PROGRAM_MODE-OFF and you're ready to go. The beep you will be left with
sounds stupid, but no error. You can also choose volume 0 for an
inaudible/visible beep. Don't forget to save the configuration by
selecting VLT-SAVE_CONFIGURATION!

Hope this helps out!

I was hoping someone could help me with my VLT problems. I'm
using VLT to hook up to the campus network. I'm having a lot of
problems within emacs, such as characters disappearing as they are
moved over and the bottom line not displaying correctly. Is VLT
completely VT100 compatable? Is there another one that is?

I have been having troubles with VLT 4.226. I've heard there is a newer
version out (I don't need the Tek Emulation, so that would be good also)
but haven't seen a location where to get it.

The problem is only when I'm in Normal, Ansi, or Color rendering mode,
the function keys at the bottom disappear after a while (I'm using Topaz
11 font for 25 lines/interlace, which is quite readable). Now, I'd like
to use the color mode, but don't want it messing up the screen.

Has this been fixed?

I am having several problems with VLT (version 4.226). I believe that they
are due do lack of understanding, not bugs; and I would be very grateful for
any tips.

1. Sometimes - for no apparent reason - a requestor pops up:

	Script - REXX returned:
	REXX - can't find/create port

Sometimes if I ignore this and keep doing whatever I am doing, it just goes
away. Other times, it is followed by a requestor:

	Serial- Port is busy
	Ctrl- Q to reset

When this happens, ctrl -Q just gives this same requestor back, and I
cannot do anything but exit and redial. (I have Arexx, but I do not
really know how to use it.)

2. The top few lines always get cut off of Tektronix plots. This is really
annoying because the emulation works so well otherwise. I am not running
morerows, or any other non-standard thing to increase the size of allowable
screens. Is this the problem?

3. Does anyone know where the TEX version of the documentation is (other than
BIX - I do not have acess)? I would like to get it.
