An interesting little story regarding an unfortunate person who fell under the low price spell of Montgomery Grant. Yesterday a customer brought in an A500 that would not run World Atlas (which ran fine in the store on our 500). We checked out his machine (whic he bought not 2 weeks previously) and found the following; 1) it had a 1.2 ROM in it 2) it had an old (circa 1985) ceramic dead CIA chip in it after replacing the CIA and installing a 1.3 ROM, all was well. he then inquired about warranty work since the machine was only 2 weeks old. we asked where he had purchased it and he said Montgomery Grant, after we picked ourselves up off of the floor and finished giving him our sympathy, we showed him the letter from CBM stating no warranty work to be performed on MG machines. So, he ended up paying about $90 to make the machine functional. There went all his fantastic savings. This is about the 5th time a customer has brought in a bad machine that was purchased from montgomery grant - you make the decision :-). Regards, George p.s. see ya at AmiExpo, D.C., booth 406 - stop by and say hello if you are in the area. -- UUCP: ucqais.uc.edu!ggibeau BBS: (513) 721-7977 GT NODE: 006/005 US Snail-Dept of Biology ML 06, University of Cincinnati, Ohio 45221 ---I mean what I say, and I say what I mean------ -----BUT, not at the same time!
