You must time you attack on the "rino-lizard" so that the spikes are on their way out, the move back and forth as they they go up and down. You must also make sure that you are not touching the creature. The rino guy needs to be hit about 20 times to kill it. When you get passed this you will see the need for at least one of the keys. I just got through the entire game and it takes about 45 minutes to play it to the end. GOOD LUCK!!! If you need more help just ask.
