Well I'm a bit fed up hearing the debate as to whether the Amiga will last the decade, century or millenium so here's some new discussion topics I wish to find out about. Firstly, and this may be more appropriate to European/UK owners, has anyone used the new Mastersound Sound Sampler? I read a review in Amiga Format that it was fabby and had a price tag of only 39 pounds. However, Amiga Format aren't really very harsh reviewers and I'm very tempted to treat everything they say with a pinch of salt. Any comments welcome? (I'm on the verge of buying one myself!!!) My second offering is the mention of a PC emulator (Hardware) that sits where the A501 memory expansion resides. This is meant to be fully ms-dos compatible, runs at 3.5 times the speed of an XT and costs only 300 pounds. And to add to this, it comes with MS-DOS 4.01, Basic and its own 1 Meg of Ram. Anyone tried this out? Any comments? Any competitors? My last offering is the A1500. I have only read small scanty previews on it. It appears to come with a MIDI, a nice casing to make the A500 look more like the 2000 and some of the 2000 expansion slots (although I believe the IBM compatible ones won't be implemented). Does anyone know anything about this?? Hopefully this should keep things ticking on a wee bit. Thanks For listening -=Andy=- PS: I have every confidence in my Amiga. If people out there think that it is being surpassed then let them sell up and buy a PC or something but at least let the rest of us enjoy our own machines. =========================================================================== Name : A Mcsherry Degree: Computer Science & Artificial Intelligence // Univ : University Of Edinburgh, Scotland. \\ // Mail : aiajms%uk.ac.ed.castle@nsfnet-relay \X/ Motd : Don't be STingy, buy a decent computer --> AMIGA ==========================================================================
