not to mention that the Personal Iris has a faster main CPU,
hardware-accelerated 3D (as well as 2D) graphics, and a graphical
interface to the Unix filesystem (WorkSpace) which is better than
Apple's Finder.

The implications are clear:

HEY COMMODORE, the Amiga 3000 had better *blow* *away* the Personal Iris
at *1/10* the cost, or *nobody* in their right mind would *ever* use an Amiga
for *anything*!

Wake up, Commodore! You're falling behind Silicon Graphics! We're doomed!!!

Next week: Gameboy vs. Personal Iris: Should Nintendo pack it in?

Right...plus, doesn't the SGI P.Iris come with Wavefront's rendering package,
installed?

At about 12K, I really don't see who Apple's going to attract. Compare their
system with (pardon me) IBM's 320 at about the same price. There IS no
comparison when you're talking power for the sake of power.
