From: <WHITESID%MCMASTER.BITNET@wiscvm.wisc.edu> Hi ... I'm a new Amiga owner, and am flabbergasted by the possibilities of this fine device. I am primarily interested, at this point, in convincing the various powers-that-be around here that this machine would make an excellent graphics workstation. To do so, I would need to have it communicate on our campus Ethernet. Are there any people out there who have any experience with Ethernets and Amigas? Are there any boards available for the Ethernet connection to an Amiga? Any help or comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance ... -Fred Whiteside WHITESID@MCMASTER.NETNORTH

Ameristar Technologies has Ethernet boards and networking software. They have told me that NFS (network file system) is a complete working client implementation, including yellow pages support. They are working on TCP/IP & telnet. They also plan to ship a remote procedure call (rpc) library. We have several boards on order and have been told that our side mount version will be shipped out this week. The cards are designed to work with both regular and thin wire ethernet. Approximate Prices: Internal Card (new form factor or old) 699.99 External side mount card 749.99 System Software (NFS etc.) 149.99 (per node) Their Address: Ameristar Technologies, P.O. I have their expansion box and it works fine. -- Rich Miner !ulowell!miner Center for Productivity/ULowell 617-452-5000x2693
