I remember someone saying to me something like, "so why isn't Commodore in the Fortune 500." I thought about that for a while, but I didn't know. Today I just perused the Fortune 500 list for 1989 and Commodore was not on it, despite sales of well above the 500th company. The reason is as follows: Commodore is not set up like most multinational companies. Each country has its own "Commodore" which is 100% independent of the U.S. "Commodore." I am guessing that, as such, as this list is only for the top 500 U.S. companies, they only included sales in the U.S. If world-wide sales for Commodore were considered, Commodore would rank about 360th. -- Ethan Ethan Solomita: es1@cunixb.cc.columbia.edu "If Commodore had to market sushi they'd call it `raw cold fish'" -- The Bandito, inevitably stolen from someone else
