Has anyone had any experiences with a Princeton UltraSync? Could some one please send me some stats(ie. max resolution, scan, etc.) via e-mail and I will post a follow up. The reason I am asking is with the introduction of newer graphics chip, which need higher resolution and scans, I don't want to have to keep switching monitors. I am having some difficulty hooking up a new Princeton Ultrasync to an Amiga 500 so I was wondering if anyone out there knows the proper way to hook it up. The cable I got from Redmond didn't work at all, the monitor wouldn't sync at all. That cable used the composite sync but had the monitor's horizontal sync connected to ground. I made another cable that did not ground the monitor's horizontal sync (left it unconnected). This new cable works for about 10 minutes and then the monitor starts to lose sync again (starting at the bottom of the screen). Now one or more of the following must be true: - The amiga is not working (the color/rgb out has never been tried on this computer and unfortunately I dont have other computers/monitors to try a swap comparison) - the cable is still wrong - the monitor has some strange thermal problem Have to cut this short, the sync is going again, Any ideas on what is going wrong here? AND in particular - How should the cable be wired???? S. Marsella

The cable I got from Redmond didn't work at all, the I know of one Princeton in use, and that is driven HD and VD through buffers. The cable I got from Redmond didn't work at all, the The Ultrasync I have works fine, with no buffering needed on the sync lines. I now use a cable that I got from Redmond cable, but I wired one up myself (using a hacked 25 pin connector) when I first got the monitor. This is on an Amiga 2000, though. I can dig up my original wiring list if you'd like. Brett -- Brett Kuehner, Racal-Redac, Mahwah, NJ ...!princeton!hhb@bvk bvk%hhb@princeton.EDU
