   Two points about Post 1.1
1) there are other significant improvements from post 1.0 to post 1.1
    a) Post now supports all the PostScript language extensions as
       defined by Adobe.
    b) The font handling has fixed so that it supports more fonts,
(some fonts could crash Post 1.0)
    c) other misc. bug fixes which could cause some serious problems.
2) There is a VERY GOOD reason that POST 1.1 now exist as a SHARED
amiga library. It is now possible for multiple programs to use the
same code simultaneously, what this means is that the amiga is now
9/10s of the way to having a true Display PostScript system. It is
now possible for several programs to use postscript to render graphics
without the memory overhead of having multiple postscript interpreters
running at the same time, thats the idea of amiga shared libraries
isn't it ? I personaly feel that a true DPS environment on the amiga
will be an important asset for ami.

The advantages for having things such as a graphics/transfer protocals/math/
plotting/PostScript interpreters... in shared libraries should be OBVIOUS,
thats just one of the things that makes the Amiga such a great machine
(IMHO :)

I will soon post my second version of the PSFONTS collection to xanth.
This collection of fonts are all PD/Shareware fonts which have been
converted for amiga use, and have been tested with Post. Most (if not all)
include bitmaps fonts, and quite a few include .AFM files for people who
need those (such as TeX users). There are numerous improvements to this
collection since the previous version, to make them work better with Post,
and also be more Amiga compatible.

If there is any interest I will also post some example postscript files
which generate some color pictures, etc.

I would be most happy to try some of these pictures, if I COULD JUST GET
THE DARNED THING TO RUN. I have downloaded Post 1.1, and the psfonts
collection (from the Radical Eye BBS), but I can't seem to get it up and
running. I followed the installation instructions, modified the init file,
made the necessary assign, but it still won't go.

On my first attempt (from WB), I was visited by the GURU, telling me of
an address error. AHA! I says, I forgot to clear location 0 (I have a 2091
HD controller, with its infamous address 0 problem). I cleared location
0, and tried again. I clicked on 'OK' in the startup requester, and
everything seemed alright. However, whatever I try to print either
ejects a blank page, or just scribbles a small blot on the page, then
ejects it. This includes the supplied demo files. I also tried printing
an EPS file (which printed fine with GhostScript), but that just generated
blobs all over the page.

When I try to run the program from the CLI (I use ARP, with a stack of 15000),
it locks up the Amiga (no GURU, just a frozen machine). Once I was unable
to warm boot out of it.

Does anyone have any clues as to what might be wrong here?
