[comp.sys.amiga] Memory Protection in 2.0?

pete%slack.uucp@cs.utah.edu (Pete Ashdown) (05/03/90)

Does the new ROM offer any sort of memory protection for tasks? What would
be ideal is the ability to setup virtual Amigas that could crash/hash/reboot
from the other virtual Amigas. I don't know if this is just a pipe dream,
but it would be wonderful for people who want to develop while running a
BBS/mail system in the background. It would also be nice if you could protect
the necessary RAM around the BridgeBoard, so rebooting the Amiga would not
affect it.

Also, since the new ROM is 512K, did they keep WorkBench on it or has it been
moved to disk as originally planned? How much of the 512K has been used?

Please respond on the net, since my mail isn't flowing.
