[comp.sys.amiga] Flicker on 500/2000/2500

NJ_GOKEM%FANDM.BITNET@cornellc.cit.cornell.edu (05/04/90)

Hi guys,

I was just wandering, for the 3000 commodore has a new chipset that gets rid
of the flicker, (with a more expensive monitor offcourse). Will there be
a similar upgrade orso for the 500/2000 ( rather than the flickerfixer?)

Some kind of board that is plugged into the Denise socket or something?

Or is it absolutely impossible because of the slow (7M) frequency of the amiga,
Do we need at least 14 Mhz to have no flicker?

Do the new chips read in all their pixels faster, to get rid of the flicker
that way, or do they make use of some kind of buffer?

Also: Please,Please stay as much possible within as few as possible screen
formats. Don't go into the direction the MACintoshes went with a
hundred-million different screensizes. On the mac's you either don't use it all,
or you can't read anything. Many programs don't work with odd screen sizes:
The MACII CI (fast) has a lot of compatability problems, and so does the FX

Please keep the amiga's uniform!!!!
(As much as is left over:PAL,NTSC,ECS,WORKSTATIONSCREEN)
