I've got a 2500 with the original Amiga monitor I had with my 1985 A1000. Now I think it's time to get a new monitor - especially since I wan't to get a flickerFixer and the ECS when it's available. I'm leaning heavily towards the Nec 3D for about $600 but want to confirm with the net that it will work with the ECS. It's listed as going from 15Khz to 38Khz. Will I have any problems? Any recommendations? -- Gregory R. Travis Indiana University, Bloomington IN 47405 greg@cica.cica.indiana.edu Center for Innovative Computer Applications

I also own an NEC 3D (but not an A3000 :^( It works VERY well... better than the C= 1950 multisync _I would wager_. The 3D has a smaller dot pitch and a broader sync range plus several other features that make it MORE desirable than the 1950 that CBM has productized for the A3000 or any ECS machine. It's ability to resolve 1280 x XXX display mode is astonishing, quite crisp. I'm glad I went ahead and bought the 3D and didn't wait to see what CBM put out for ECS. You should not have any problems. The correct cable adaptor is supplied with the monitor, so you will not have to buy a special cable for use with flickerFixer. Other monitors to consider are the new Commodore A1950 (which also comes with the correct adaptor), the Taxan 770 Plus, the Mitsubishi AUM-1381A (which has a composite input) and the Sony 1302 or 1303. Monitor preferences are an individual thing; try to get a look at a monitor before you buy. -- Peter Selverstone ...{mit-eddie,pyramid,datacube}!mirror!ssi3b1!pselver Spy Pond Systems pselver@ssi3b1.zone1.com Arlington, MA BIX:pselverstone PLINK:pselverst CIS:72527,2652
