With the advent of these recent news reading programs for the Amiga, I have considered starting feeding news to my Amiga. I have UUCP running for mail. (Well, I got it to work reliably for 2 days and I disconnected it. I just wanted to know I could use it if I needed it.) For a couple of reasons, I'd rather set up the feed via NNTP (no hassle for the sys admin over there, etc.). Has anyone tried transporting news via NNTP and storing it so that the Amiga newsreaders can grok it? NNTP doesn't require any special protocols, it's just a bidirectional ASCII stream. In fact, I was thinking that it would be great to build a xport program that spoke across DNet to the NNTP server on the other side. Has anyone does this? I would even be willing to port some code. I guess I just need the code for a NNTP transporter (rather than a NNTP Reader) and hack it into AmigaUUCP + DNet, right? -Tom -- tlimonce@drew.edu Tom Limoncelli Summer internships?
