[comp.sys.amiga] Help..me

mike@murphy.com (Michael P. Reilly) (05/07/90)

OK..
First off ... if anybody sees this, Please E-mail me, as I am not sure
my news posting system is working...

Secondly...
I did something REALLY stupid on sunday (May 6), I plugged a Smith-Corona
type writer into my Amiga parallel port using a 25 pin to 9 pin adapter and ..

	POP... SIZZLE SIZZLE Bzzzzzzt....

I guess the amiga couldn't handle 110 volts through the parallel port..
cheap A1000... :-)

When I boot up the machine now, all I get to is the grey (dark, I think)
color screen, and the machine just sits there (very nicely though I might add)

Does anybody have any suggestions on what might actually have been blown out,
I really don't want to spend alot of money getting it fixed, but I do want
it working until I can get an A3000 (yes, I am buying one despite all of it's
technical limitations Mark Barret has been so kind (sic) to point out).
 :-) :-) :-)

My other option is to pick up one of these keyboardless A1000's floating around
and use that until the A3000 comes about (september, for me...)

Third... (and least important)

To mark Barret...
Old proverbs say..

It is better for people to THINK you are stupid (moron, ignorant, etc...)
than for you to open your mouth and prove you are...

Please.. THINK BEFORE YOU POST...
