Okay, the 3000 is out there, and the 1000 is officially unsupported. However, I believe there are still thousands (?) of 1000s floating around, and it will take at least 3 more years for these 1000s to get physically unfunctional (I've got mine for 5 years, and no problem whatsoever yet!). So are we (1000 owners) stuck with whatever we have now? Are there any 1000 owner associations which are devoted to continue developing PD software (utilities and games) that runs on unaltered 1000s with AmigaDOS 1.3 or lower? BTW, I heard that there will be SPARCs (12 MIPS) for around $4,000. I guess when my 1000 finally dies, I'll switch to a SPARC... Don't flame me! I NEED the MIPS to run Lisp programs! --Tak ___ # # ===== How do I know if you are real or not? +-- /-+-- (__/\ # # # # ===\ /=== # # >>>>> auyeung@iris.ucdavis.edu |X/-+ /[[]] O/O) # # # # ----| #---# >>>>> Tak-Ying "UlTech" AuYeung +- /' |---- \-/| \===/ \=== # ===/ \=== # # >>>>> A self-conscious entity / \ |/\'\
