ms0p+@andrew.cmu.edu (Michael Gordon Shapiro) (05/09/90)
For sale: A multiCool Amiga 2500/20 system comprised of: . Amiga 2500/20 (unsurprisingly enough) with the following standard features: 1 meg chip RAM (ECS Agnus) Standard internal floppy drive CBM A2620 Card 68020 processor @ 14 megahertz 68881 floating point unit 68551 memory management unit 2 megs of 32-bit fast ram Can revert to 68000 mode for games, etc. CBM 2090a SCSI controller card Autoboot capability (thus the "a") Runs SCSI or ST-506 drives 40 meg rodime hard drive (43 megs under FFS) . Amiga 1080 Monitor Hey, it's old, but it's fully functional and in fine condition. . Software (originals, of course, w/docs except where noted) All system software (1.3) Shadow of the Beast Arcticfox Brataccas (You can't pay me to keep this one) Terrorpods (original disk, no docs or box) OGRE A Mind Forever Voyaging Lots of fun 'n' exciting PD/Shareware software (including a "best of" disk upon request) . Nifty Acessories Amiga 1.3 Rom Kernal Manual: Libraries and devices Amiga 1.2 Rom Kernal Manual: Exec (Well, what am I going to do with it?) All standard manuals + instructions. . . Caveats: . The A2500 keyboard is slightly scratched in one corner >>> Purely aesthetic difficulty. . The 5 1/4" drive bay is missing one (easily replacable) screw. It's currently taped on satisfactorily. >> Purely aesthetic difficulty, and only noticable from inside. . There is ONE wire that has been internally soldered to the serial port in the machine. This is because some component of the serial port died at one point, and as a result one pin wasn't getting power. The effect was that MIDI devices wouldn't work (modems would). The one (not two, three, pi, or any other number) wire supplies power to that one pin from a drive connector cable. >>> No effect upon computer's performance in any way. One just >>> has to be careful when opening it not to disconnect the >>> wire. Wire can be removed if you don't mind sacrificing >>> MIDI capabilities, although I can't imagine why you'd want to. . Reason for sale: What do you think? I want an A3000. . All in all, it's a nice, turbocharged Amiga system that isn't too pricey (especially if you don't qualify for the educational discount), and has only superficial injuries. . Must sell before May 16th (I'm leaving for the summer) or after early September (when I return). . You too can own the machine on which the PD game Zerg was written! (Possible historical value?) . . . Asking price: $2000 (or best offer) and 1/2 of shipping costs. . (Paid... oh, paid some ridiculous amount, but don't let that bother you.) . Leave me mail or ask for Mike at (412) 268-4343.
