[comp.sys.amiga] Hard drive question

                   Greetings,
           
                        I have a used 1000 with a Microforge expansion
  unit. After a month or so I learned how to load the workbench that 
  mounts the hard drive. My question now is how do I know that I am 
  working off the hard drive? I guess that I my main problem is that 
  I am using a "Mac mentality" when dealing with the Amiga. I keep looking
  for an icon that states that I`m working out of the hard drive. Is this 
  a misconception on my part?
