Just tried to hook up an old apple //e joystick to the Amiga; it works marginally. It would appear that the pots are not strong enough (not enough resistance). Will the IBM joysticks work any better, or do I have to replace the pots? 470k pots? Where to get them? I am using a Hayes (CH) Mach III Apple joystick. What is the correct pinout for the adapter (Amiga => Analog Apple/IBM)? Thanks, John

Perhaps all the Gurus were out balancing on their Amiga Joyboards when I asked this the first time, as I got no response to the question: Is it possible, via some to-be-designed input-munging software, to more-or-less transparently use an ordinary analog joystick as a programmable joystick or mouse, in the tradition (though not the same implementation) of the Gravis Mousestick (TM)?
