Guess what? A real live Commodore rep just visited our measly little campus! (And he was actually trying to sell machines, too :-) He met with the head of our CS department and outlined their > 2 < lines, the Amiga and the PC compatibles. They have arranged a demo for sometime in mid- June, and the rep says we can actually keep the system for a month, maybe more. I assume it will be a 3000, and we asked to have the Ethernet board also. Basically our department head said that only if we had a system to use and test, would we support the educational program, and distribute the Commodore paraphrenalia along with the Mac & Zenith junk to students & faculty. He left two folders, one pushing the 3000 and Multimedia, and the other having to do with the 500, 2000, and 2500. Basically they emphasize the 2500 and 3000. Also included was the Byte cover, but no article! weird. Anyway, it is encouraging to see that they are getting reps out to the schools. (BTW, our school has about 2200 students.) -- -----------------------------------------------------------------///-------- plonka@carroll1.cc.edu Dave Plonka /// uunet!marque!carroll1!plonka ARS: N9HZF \\\/// AMIGA -------------------------------------------------------------\XX/-----------
