[comp.sys.amiga] A3000 Why not a home computer and IBM and Mac Strengths

rcs91900@zach.fit.edu ( Charles Stockman /ADVISOR-Clutterham) (05/31/90)

I believe that every home computer has the stigma of being though of as
a game machine. Well we know better, the Amiga is a good home computer
and it could be more. For example:

1.. A multimedia station for research on any topic

2.. The one device that can controll when all lights go on or off
        and other appliances to !!!

3.. A telecommunication center that can connect to all the sites such
as ftp sites. That way family can have a large supply of software

4.. Can channel your TV through it and create videos with all the news
        you want

5.. Can run the software of any computer !!!

What I am is lets remove the stigma of having a home computer, just like the
early amiga users did with owning an Amiga.

IBM and Mac Strengths:

It seems to me that all these companies brag about the machanical and Os
of the Amiga, and they degrade their software (saying its inferior to Lotus)

I think it is time that we stopped downing ourselves and start getting more
innovative. For example in the early days of the Amiga, I remember hearing
about database that had pictures before IBM did. What I would like to see
is programming taking risk such as building scientific software or a better
C compiler. In otherwords I see no risks takers in the Amiga Community,
and I will not buy software until I see more risks. Also I like would to
see a 300 pg magazine out for amiga.
