If you have a C compiler, you can put this small fix in the code:

In there is a file called news.c.

The following lattice diff file shows the changes necessary to make the
delete command work correctly. It also fixes a "bug" that caused the
group you just finished reading to be re-scanned. With the fix, when
you finish a group, the next group is scanned, and you are asked
if you want to read it.

==================Start of diff file - Cut here =================

		TO TRANSFORM Onews.c INTO news.c ...

*** CHANGE 382 IN Onews.c TO [382,383] IN news.c ***
<    return ('n');

---------------
>    free_directory(1);
>    return ('$');
=======================End of diff file ===========================

There is another "bug" that causes the 'followup' commands 'f & F' to
be confused with the 'reply' commands 'r & R'. To fix this, you edit
showart.c. In function 'showart' there is a switch statement. Just
switch the contents of the 'r' and the 'f' cases.

Hope this helps......

Has anyone had any problem deleting articles under the ANEWS distributed
with Amiga UUCP 1.05D?

I like this version of ANEWS much better, since I can post and reply from
it. But how do I get rid of the articles that I have read and don't want
to keep? I have been telling it to delete the articles (the "d" key), but
after I finish the newsgroup, the system tells they are all there again, with
the same number of unread messages!

This suggestion helped me out alot but I ran across one small problem.	While
trying to recompile the code after making the changes you suggested I
ran into a problem of not having a file called UUCP.LIB. If you know
where I can get this file please let me know. I don't have FTP access so
that is out. If anyone can help me with this I would appreciate it greatly.

Thanks in advance!
