[comp.sys.amiga] Boot-Picture on HD

eriks@ifi.uio.no (Erik Saastad) (06/06/90)

Does anyone have a utility that copys the boot sector from a floppy to
the boot sector on a Hard-disk?

What I would like to do is to use the prog. BOOTGIRL to make a bootable
diskette with an IFF pic., and then copy this sector to the HD's boot
sector. Or if anyone has a program that can copy a boot-sector from one
floppy to another witch works with assignings (assign df1: to dh0:),
most programs crashes if I try.

Thanks

One of (sorry) the fish disks has a program called TrackBack (or
some variant thereof) that will copy boot sectors to files and back.
It works with hard disks too. Try backing up the boot record and
then restoring it to another disk. -- Darren
