Hello there everyone that reads this net. I have posted a few items to this net recently. But this one perhaps is the most important to me. I need some information and I would like every one with the answer to please answer this posting. I would like lots of info to draw on. WHAT I need is to know how to load an IFF picture file from basic. This is in standard amigabasic. IF there is a library that lets you do it then please include the name and where I can get it. And as closely as poss- ible the way that it is done so that I can use it in a program that I am writ- ing. If it is merely a series of commands so much the better. please send me these. I need all the help that I can get. Although I am new to Amiga I have worked on a lot of other machines. On the C128 pictures could be loaded by simply loading the information into the right location. If this or something close(??) works the please someone tell me how. Thanks to all those who send information to me in advance. You might just save my perverbial life. thanks, Joshua Dinerstein

Given you have Workbench and Extras 1.3, you just have to look into the Basicdemos drawer: "It's in there" (nice citing) !!! Explanation you find shortly in ReadMe, details in the programs LoadACBM, LoadILBM-SaveACBM, and SaveILBM Well, we have to admit, at least the LoadILBM routine IS SLOW. But it works and you can convert your pictures to the ACBM format with which you can use system routines that will let you Basic program look just as fast as any C or assembly loader program. Simply impressing. Try it and have fun. -- Best regards, Dr. Peter Kittel E-Mail to Commodore Frankfurt, Germany rutgers!cbmvax!cbmbsw!cbmger!peterk
