The following Senior level position is currently available in the
Northwest (Seattle) area for the right person:

General Summary:

     Plan and execute the engineering on a project developing an intelligent
     instrument.  Organize and lead the software and systems aspects of the
     development.  May include project responsibility involving planning,
     scheduling, costs and coordinating the activities related to the
     development and completion of the project.

Specific Duties:

     Participate in the product engineering feasibility studies.
     Contribute toward the product specifications.
     Determine the product architecture:

          Define the hardware modules/options.
          Partition the software among the hardware modules/options.
          Define the hardware and software interfaces between modules.

     Write the Software Requirements Specification, Hardware Requirements
          Specification and Test Plan for each module/option.
     Identify the hardware and software development and testing tools
          (compilers, target microprocessor development system, etc.) required
          and assist in procuring them.
     Participate in the creation of high quality software.
     Contribute toward the user documentation.

Education:

     Minimum Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
     with 5 years experience in software development and digital design. Strong
     theoretical background in control theory.

Experience:

     Experience in the design and implementation of process control
     instrumentation.
     Exposure to complex hardware (large instruments and minicomputer
     systems helpful).
     Experience with digital design (eg. bus design)
     Participation in complex software development (> 3 people, > 50k bytes).
     Experience with UNIX operating system and "C" language desirable.
