[comp.sys.amiga] A500 vs. A500P?

seh@pmafire.UUCP (Steve Holaday) (06/11/90)

I guess by now everybody knows Commodore has released the
A500P which is a professional version of the A500.
How is the A500P different from the A500?

The A500P comes with 1 meg of memory, AmigaVision, and some
other software. Now for the questions? :-)

Is the memory all chip memory? Is this a rev 7 (6a?) A500 motherboard?
Is the memory on the motherboard the 256x4 kbit kind (ie. 4 memory
chips on the motherboard)? Does the motherboard contain the 1-meg
Agnus or 2-meg Agnus, don't tell me its the 0.5-meg Agnus :-( ?

Is the new Denise chip included? Does Commodore provide any internal
expansion above 1 meg or do they recommend the external hard disk (A590)
with memory? Will (can) the A501 memory board be replaced to provide
for 2 megs of chip memory (total)? Is the power supply any different
from the A500 power suppply?

Is the A1084S (stereo monitor) available with the A500P? Will we ever
see the A1084S produced again, or has it been replaced with the A1084
monitor and the A10 external stereo speakers?

What other software will come with the A500P? A wordprocessor maybe?

I think I've asked enough questions and wasted enough bandwidth. Reply
to me and I'll post results, if I get anything of interest.
Thanks in advance for any answers! :-)
