This is only an idea I thought of last week. I do not advocate its use. I am just adding fuel to the flames :-) (You know an article is going to be good when the disclaimer is at the front.) The Idea: Through the truth in labeling act , if it exists, have the distributors put a label with the requirements label detailing the kind of copy protection the package has; None, manual lookup, codewheel, "soft" disk based, "hard" disk based, etc. I would define "hard" as any disk based CP that grinds the head around and could cause alignment problems. Since most publishers would not be real eager to tell you that using their software could damage your drive's alignment at least that one may go the way of the Emu. Maybe it would cut back on the number of "soft" disk based packages, who knows. Well, that is the idea. I am not willing to defend it so am immune to flames. I just wanted to tell the world. Rick
