[comp.sys.amiga] pretty music

peters@udel.EDU (Shirley Peters) (06/13/90)

      I am interested in printing out music scores clearly, legibly, and
hopefully easily :-). What hardware/software combinations would you
recommend in the Amiga line of computers (cpu, printer, and software) which
would cost less than $5000?

Thanx

I use Dr T's Copyist. There are several versions available, from the
Apprentice to the DTP version. The Apprentice has custom printer drivers
for a few varieties of high resolution printers including HP laser/deskjets.
The DTP will output postscript.

I have the Apprentice (the others are not exactly within my budget), and
print on an HP laserjet.  The output is very nearly a work of art;
pretty much publication quality. The bad news is that without any
other software to aid it, it is slightly difficult to get the
manuscript in there in the first place. But once you do the output is
stunning if you use their special supplied drivers.

I cannot compare this to any other Amiga music publishing programs as
I haven't used any others.

Hope this helps.
