[comp.sys.amiga] BridgeBoard, Kronos controller and Amouse all put together...

Sylvain@speedy.CAM.ORG (Sylvain Tremblay) (06/16/90)

Three of four days ago, I posted a request for help with Amouse. I said I
had problem with it, it never ran and crashed my PC ans sometimes my Amiga.
Some weird squares were showing on the PC screen. I found out, from
replies (specificaly the one from Joer Hoehle <hoehle@hpki.cs.uni-sb.de>
that my problem was my HD controller. Joer told me he had a Cltd Krono
controller and had problem with Amouse only when the Krono controller is
installed. Does anybody here knows why Amouse does not run well with Cltd
Krono controller or any other krono controller? Did anybody else
experienced this problem?

Here is the last post (and mail) regarding that subject:

>>>I need help from anyone who has a bridgeboard and is using his Amiga Mouse
>>>with it.
>>>
>>>Since I purchased Bridgeboard enhencer software, I tried to install Amouse
>>>to use my mouse, but my machine would 1) crash or
>>> 2) display weirds sqaures on PC screen
>>>                                         and eventually crash.
>>
>>I have a PAL B2000, an A2088, and a Kronos Cltd Controller with a Quantum
>>drive. Here is what I've experienced:
>>When the Harddrive is turned off (remove the controller from the slots), the
>>mouse works just fine (of course I had to make a bootable floppy that hold
>>all needed programs on the Amiga side).
>>When the controller is plugged in, the PC crashes (weirds squares) as soon as
>>I start PCMouse on the Amiga side.
>
>THAT'S IT!!!!! I also got a Cltd Controller and never tried Amouse without
>it... I think you just pointed out the problem... Thanks!
>
>>
>>So maybe you should take a look at your system/hardware configuration.
>>I suspect that there is a bug both in the PCMouse program and in the Kronos
>>controller, and they show off only when used together.
>>
>>The other bug known to me is when I try to use MSH v1.6 (the messydos file
>>system that appeared on Usenet). This time, when the HD is mounted, MSH is
>>unable to write the disk. But this is more a bug of MSH (MSH is able to write
>>with the CrossDOS device). (I can make the HD disappear by clicking the left
>>button on boot, then I call it unmounted. Then I can use a program that makes
>>it appear again, it's mounted).
>>
>>However, this subject interests me a lot, and I would be very pleased if you
>>could send me responses you will get from the net.
>
>YOU got me the best answer yet, the others don't know too much what is
>happening. Do you still want me to forward you the reponses?
