Help..... I have a Quantum 40 with Hardframe. I followed the specs of the hardframe disk manual and partitioned the Quantum drive where the density changed. So I've got cylinders 1-589 at 35 blocks/track and 590-833 at 28 blocks/track. Cylinder 0 is devoted to the Rigid Disk Block. Anyway, heres the problem: Anytime I do a large write to cyl's 1-589, the other section: 590-833 gets a read/write error and I would have to reboot, reformat, and restore that section to use it again. This has happened three times already. Anyone know what's going on? Could it be the Maxtransfer? Mine's at 130560. OR Buffer Memory Type? Mine's set to Fast Mem. Thanks in advance. -jc -- Joseph Chung == You can always find what you're not looking for! == laba-1ei@web.berkeley.edu
