Last night my A2000 (rev 6.0) started displaying random garbage at the CLI (actually, WShell but that makes no difference). It seems that anything which uses the console.device will being dumping garbage to the screen (i.e., any terminal programs, text editors, word processors, etc.). The character that is displayed most is the single quote (`) and it looks like this: 1.HD0:> `````````````````````````````````````````````````` It doesn't happen all the time. If I try to type something, I get that garbage. BUT: it happens EVEN WITH THE KEYBOARD UNPLUGGED. In fact, if I reboot, unplug the keyboard, it will sometimes IMMEDIATELY start spitting those quotes to the screen, without even displaying the copyright notice for Kickstart! HELP!!!!! Anybody know what's causing this?? Cold solder joint maybe??? -- Dan Cogswell Brakes waste gas! INET: dlcogswe@vela.acs.oakland.edu Microwaves should be seen - not heard!
