I just received my A3000 and I'd like to add some more memory to it. Can anyone tell where I can find the 80ns 256 * 4 ZIP chips needed to make the A3000 run at its maximum speed? I called practically every company in Byte and Computer Shopper whose ads said that they sold memory chips and almost all of them said they didnt carry memory chips in the ZIP format. Those that did sell ZIP chips didnt offer them with 80ns access time or with static column. Just about the only place which carries them is Microprocessors Unlimited which sells them for $12 a chip. I'd like the name , address and telephone number of any other company that sells these chips. I dont understand why Commodore chose to use such expensive and hard to find chips in the design of the A3000. Why couldnt they have used SIMMs which are as cheap and easy to find as dirt? thanks scott corley Private Message: Two people E-mailed me when I first posted this question on comp.sys.amiga. hardware asking me to send them any information I received in answer to my question. Since I didnt received any replies to my question , I couldnt forward that information to anyone else. Also , I was just cleaning out my mailbox and I accidentally deleted the names and E-mail addresses of those two people. Would those two people please send me another E-mail message so I can send you the info I receive , if I receive any.
