I need to buy a good spreadsheet and perhaps also a database manager
for my Amiga. Can anyone provide me with some reviews/recommendations?
My needs are as follows:
1. Spreadsheet must be able to import text files in an intelligent manner.
2. Same for database program.
3. Spreadsheet should be able to read 1-2-3/Symphony files.
4. Spreadsheet and database programs should be compatible - i.e. easy to
move data between them.
5. Spreadsheet should have similar functionality to 1-2-3/Symphony.
6. Both should be REXX compatible.
7. Last, but certainly not least, software must be BUG FREE.
I've been limping along with VIP professional, which does a fairly good
copy of 1-2-3, but is slow as snot in January, and has the bad habit of
crashing the machine when it runs out of memory. It also has other bad
habits, including not multitasking, not understanding preferences printer settings,
and others.
Any information on what's good and what's not would be greatly
appreciated. Please respond by e-mail, not in postings, as I don't
read this newsgroup regularly. (Ijt's too big and I only have a 1200 baud
connection - try searching through some 900 postings with a 1200 baud
terminal some time, and you'll see what I mean!)
