What's up? Did the jet land or get shot down? Could it be that in fact it DID land or in fact maybe never existed, and that the "shooting" is a massive propaganda hoax? The arch-conservative congressman could have decided that he would (temporarily or permanently) go underground for the good of anti-Soviet relations, and the Reagan administration, after setting us all up with talks of a Summit with Andropov, engineers this public relations coup. Anybody know anyone personally that was lost on this plane? Know them well enough to know they haven't been set up in Venezuela for the rest of their lives? I don't think I'm being paranoid...what is reality? Maybe time will sort this all out, but it seems damned fishy to me. The Russians are sometimes clumsy, but blowing up a real 747 would rate as a major slip, I'd say. Politically Aware in Rochester
