[comp.sys.amiga] 1 Meg Memory Board Settings

hamish@waikato.ac.nz (07/05/90)

OK Here it is folks, for all you brave and unlucky (as me :( ) people who
have the old Rev4 motherboard with 512K of motherboard memory. This is the
jumper setting for the 1Meg board that goes into the CPU slot, to give you
1.5Meg of total RAM. The jumper settings were given to me bu Commodore NZ Ltd
(Before they were bought by CBM Intl) a couple of years ago, when I did mine.

Basically there is a block of 5 jumpers of which 3 are jumpered and 2 open.
Remove one of the jumpers and hide it away, as you only need 2 of them. Then
move the remaining 2 jumpers until they look like this.

    | |

Where the :'s are open jumpers and the X's are the ones where the black
jumpers are joined. You can fill in the chips with your imagination.
The revision of the board in my computer was 3a (The memory board that is)
and I don't know it there were any others. But it should work. The usual
disclaimers about "if it breaks don't blame me" apply here.

It works for me in a Rev4 A2000, 512k on board, 1Meg on the MMU slot,
2 floppies, and a 2090A autobooting harddrive. 1.3Kickstart ROM's.

Have fun!
