Howdy-
I just purchased the Mimetics Sound Sampler hardware/software (for
my 1000) from a friend and was wondering if the collective netmind
could help me with a few questions about it:
o Though perhaps making better quality samples, the sampling software
seems to have a very small sample time (up to 2 seconds!). Has anyone
written PD software that does not have this restriction. I know about
the other program on the disk, RamSample, which leads me to my next
question:
o Since this program seems to be the only way I have to make samples
of greater than 2 seconds in length, has anyone written a program to
convert its format to something some of the editors can use (like
PerfectSound or FutureSound)?
o Do any of the other sampler packages have the ability to work with
this hardware?
o Are there any other PD programs out there that could help me in my
enjoyment of this hardware?
o At one point in time I remember a Mimetics rep I heard speak say
that the sampler has the capability to do stereo samples, the software
just wasn't there. Is it there yet, or was the rep fibbin' (since the
manual appears to contradict him)?
I would greatly appreciate it if people could respond to me directly
by email since I can't keep up with the volume of news this group
generates (though I think it is great show of support for a great
machine). I have ftp access, so pointers or actual source code to
answer some of the above is more than welcome. Thanks muchly for your
help in advance.
