Hi folks... I got the info several of you requested of me on Maple,
the symbolic mathematics package available for a number of architectures
including the Amiga. Unfortunately the price is MUCH higher than I
anticipated for non-UW folks so I doubt it's a feasible solution for
most of you. It IS a good product, though, and you can write to the
email addresses below for more info. What follows is the verbatim
text of the information I got back from the Maple folks:

The current price for Amiga Maple 4.2 (1 CPU) is Can $475. Site
licenses are also available. Please ask for details, if interested.
The minimum hardware requirements for this version of Maple are
1 megabyte of memory and a hard disk, as well as operating system
version 1.2 or later.
If you are a student, staff or faculty member of the University of
Waterloo, you are entitled to purchase Amiga Maple at the Computer
Store on campus (formerly the Computer Information Centre) at a
substantially reduced price.
Otherwise, you may purchase the software directly from us.
Thank you for requesting information about Maple. Please send me your
full postal address, including university/business affiliation, and
phone/Fax numbers, and I will mail a comprehensive information package
to you. This package should answer most, if not all, of your questions.
