[comp.sys.amiga] WordPerfect under 2.0

dlarson@blake.u.washington.edu (Dale Larson) (07/14/90)

(eat me)
I have submitted a bug report to bugs@commodore.com in regards to
WP running under the release version of 2.0 on an A2000 with
the developer kickfile disk. Under that configuration, the workbench
version command reports versions incorrectly (i.e. 33.180 and 33.68
even though I had 36.141 and 36.68 -- there is a developer command
which reports these properly).

Until Commodore has been able to evaluate my bug report, I don't know
why some people are able to use WordPerfect except that they may not
be using the most recent release (4.1.11 9/29/89).

Please accept my appologies for adding to the confusion, but I'm glad
I found out that there is apparently a bug somewhere which had not
been reported to Commodore.

You definitely are adding to the confusion. The 2.0 release that is out now
is ONLY FOR THE A3000!!! The version number is reported CORRECTLY on the A3000.
On the A2000 the ROM kickstart version number is reported. Note that the
kickfile is simply a debugging kludge (though a nice one :-) that might never
get to be released publicly. If you are a developer, send bug reports
to bugs@commodore.com. There is no reason to flood the net about this stuff,
at least not until Commodore releases an A2000 version of 2.0.
