A3000 - WB2.0 - PROBLEMS
A3000/25/100 KS ver 36.141 WB ver 36.68
HARDWARE:
A2052 ram card that works perfectly in an A2000 causes the
A3000 to guru. First message is; Software Failure: 8100 000C
Task 07F29B80. The left mouse button changes this to; Error:
0100 000C Task: 07F29B80. The machine is now locked up.
Scanlock genlock that worked well with the A2000 now has
varying degrees of trouble with the A3000 depending on the
source of the signal. (I am guessing it is the sync signal)
Operation with input from broadcast TV is pretty stable,
operation from S-VHS recorded TV is terrible, the display on
the A1950 is all broken up. Operation from S-VHS recorded
camera is poor, numerous zigzags in the A1950 display,
operation from the Scanlock internal sync does not work, i.e.
no display on the A1950. I have yet to try live camera.
COMMERCIAL SOFTWARE:
WordPerfect 4.1.11 release 9/29/89 seems to work OK except the
date function insists the date is January 1, 1978.
PageStream 1.80 works OK with WB1.3 but only loads in B&W with
WB2.0, also importation of graphics fails under WB2.0.
Online!_Platinum works OK with WB1.3 but under WB2.0 it loads
with only the top left 25% of the program display screen
filling the monitor thus preventing normal operation.
Digi-paint3 works sort of except you can't quit without a
reboot.
DeluxePaint III works except you loose your menu if you select
overscan.
SHAREWARE:
Uedit takes about 10 seconds to load then seems to function
OK except when you attempt to leave the program resident and
shrink the window to an icon, the icon does not appear.
SID takes about 1 minute to bring up the display of Volumes:
available then it freezes up after a few moments of operation.

I have been informed by Commodore that the A2010 internal drive for the A2000
cannot be used in the A3000, and that they don't know when a second internal
floppy drive for the A3000 will be available. The A2010 will fry the A3000
motherboard if you attempt to use one (and I know of one person who lost one
doing that.)
