amiga, so excude me if these are dumb questions. Thanx in advance.

I tried to respond to you by mail but it bounced. Yes it is possible to do
what you want. Michigan Software makes a card that will plug in internally
and allow you to have the kickstart in rom or from disk on demand. There is
also a couple of hardware hacks available. One was mentioned here on the net
about 3 or 4 months ago (I forget its name now). The other appeared in Robo
City News about 4 years ago. I have the text of that article & could send it
to you if you could give me a reliable address. Otherwise I could send it to
Xanth & let you FTP it from there. Let me know what you want to do.

Yes, I have a Kwickstart board in my 1000. It plugs into the 68000
socket and the 68000 plugs into it. Some soldering is required. It
has a 1.3 rom in it which is only 256K. I called Michigan Software up
to see if they would come out with a 512K version (for WB 2.0). I was
told politely that 2.0 would not run on the 1000. Hopefully with
time they'll see that it is possible to have 2.0 on a 1000.

I really like the Kwickstart. It frees up 256k of memory which can
be added in with addmem. It also allows me to boot with KS 1.1
with a disk so I can run some of those old games.
