Say what ...?

There has been no official "call for discussion" or "call for votes" on this
that I am aware of. And it certainly is not on the list of pending news
group actions that Eliot Lear publishes in news.announce.newgroups (?).

Perhaps this explains why the "voting" is low?

If you want to create a new group, I suggest you get a copy of the current
rules for doing so ... an updated version was posted just this past week, so
it should still be on your machine (in one or more of the news.*.* groups).

Or you could ask Kent ... he has some recent "experience" in doing this ... :-)

This is not intended as a flame ... just a reminder that if you want to do
this, then please do it right.

P.S. It's looking alot like the c.s.a hierarchy really needs a .forsale
group. It's getting worse that the trash mail from K-Mart, etc.
      Sheeesh!

There was a two-week discussion on news.groups, and all calls for
discussion and votes have been posted to all the comp.sys.amiga.* groups,
as well as news.groups, rec.video, comp.mail.multi-media and sometimes
comp.graphics. However, the first two calls for votes were munged somehow
by my poster, I think, and only the third which I posted a few days ago
actually went out.

As for news.announce, I cannot get mail to it. I can send mail back and forth
to Mr. Lear just fine, but the address for submissions bounces every way I can
think of to route it. He has finally posted a copy of the call for votes
that I included in one of my messages to him.

>Perhaps this explains why the "voting" is low?

Well, as I said, it is no more. But you're probably right - nobody saw
my 'call for votes' messages, though I'm pretty sure my 'call for discussion'
messages got out all right, at least the initial ones that were posted here.

I have them. I've been accused of not following them and not having them,
but I have read them and I am following them to the letter as best I can.

>Or you could ask Kent ... he has some recent "experience" in doing this ... :-)

Actually, I'm having rather similar experiences with Mr. Lear as Kent has had
recently...

Not taken as such... I've gotten enough flames on my "not following the
guidelines" that I know what they look like by now!
