I was looking through the July issue of Electronics Test magazine (mostly for lack of anything better to do at the time... I'm not much of a hardware guy...) and a picture on p.38 caught my eye... The article was about a system called the BTMA 2500, a "low-cost modular memory analysis system that combines a memory tester's ability to generate vectors"... costs from 39,000 to $79,000. The screenshots in the accompanying picture, though, looked verrry familiar. The system itself is a box even bigger and uglier than the 2000's. On the far right corner of the front panel are openings for 2 3.5" drives and, centered beneath them, a 5.25" drive. The keyboard and mouse are definitely the same as the 2000's.... and the screenshots show a 1.3-looking screen (in 8 or so colors) complete with all the familiar front-back & close gadgets, as well as the usual title bars, etc. This thing definitely has an Amiga engine in it. Why haven't any AMiga magazines mentioned it (I know it's not exactly a consumer product, but most of the magazines like to report on new developments for the Amiga in ANY market). -- Gibberish .sig for sale or lease. is spoken Contact don@vax1.acs.udel.edu for more information. here.
