[comp.sys.amiga] Any Cautions on buying a used A500?

megabyte@chinet.chi.il.us (Dr. Megabyte) (07/31/90)

I've just about decided, based on the wonderful help I recieved here, that
a used Amiga 500 will best fit both my budget and my needs in a computer.
What I want to know is if there is anything I should watch out for in the
used Amiga 500 market. Are there "lemon" machines or monitors? Are there
old version of the software or firmware to be avoided? Have there been any
revisions to the motherboard that I want to avoid?

Basically, what do I look for or _not_ look for in a used Amiga 500?

Check the keyboard carefully--I'm having trouble with the often-used
keys like the slash (/) working intermittently.
